The Soul Fire experience takes over the historic Moseley School of Art, for an afternoon of live-art, great food, curated sounds and conversation.
Three invited artists will be painting live on bespoke mini-stages. The audience is invited to sit back watching the works develop whilst enjoying some fresh curry from our guest caterer Raja Monkey. Background soundscapes will be provided by our resident DJ playing from vinyl.
The audience is invited to sketch and draw onto the tabletops, whilst the art goes on around them: All materials provided! The public are invited to bring their own drawing materials if they wish!
The food will be included in the entry ticket, which is set at an introductory price of £5. The public will have the opportunity to purchase art from established and emerging talents.  Tickets:

Soul Fire Sundays is a series of regular events curated by artist Mohammed Ali (Soul City Arts) sponsored by the Amal Foundation with the aim of bringing communities together and a focus on giving artists centre stage.
The three guest artists are:

Will Barras – artist, illustrator and animation director who grew up in Birmingham, but now based in London. His unique representations of fluid movement, unique narrative driven composition and line work has led Will to travel extensively, live painting and exhibiting his paintings in Asia, throughout Europe and the U.S.

Asia Alfasi – a Libyan-British manga-influenced comic writer and artist, born in Libya, moved to Scotland and now based in Birmingham. Her works synthesise Islamic, Libyan, British, and Japanese influences. Her first individually published graphic novel will detail the adventures of a young Muslim girl and the events of her life in both Libya and Scotland due to be released by Bloomsbury this year.

ROOTS – an illustrator and designer from Birmingham, whose work is heavily character based with a love for the weird and wonderful – inspired by 90s pop culture and getting lost down nature’s rabbit hole.

Date: Sunday 15th December 2019. 12pm-5pm.
Venue: Moseley School of Art, Moseley Road, Balsall Heath, B12 9AZ
