My research seeks to understand the relations between people and things in exhibition spaces. Through exhibition making I consider how we (as artists, curators, researchers), make things through the key relators that exist within a system of things that interact. Defined as an encounter between audience, thing and maker, the exhibition is situated, aiming to understand it as a co-production between all parts present (the audience, the objects, the exhibition space). Within my research the exhibition is aligned to the making process, the resulting ‘objects’ considered artwork artefacts which trace knowledge through their material being. The objective of the research aiming to challenge hierarchies, shift pre-existing delineations and generate new, more critically aware, making strategies.
