Lucy Parris

Lucy is currently studying as a mature student on the Fine Art MA at the Birmingham School of Art. Her work is predominantly concerned with aspects of landscape, journey and how we remember and process our environment. She is interested in how physical engagement with the landscape through walking inspires creativity and informs the use of colour, form, materials and process. Exploring ideas of fragmentation and reconsolidation, her work considers how memory distorts the purely topographical interpretation of landscape. Working mainly in print, she is currently examining the possibilities of print as three-dimensional, sculptural forms. Her interest lies in using print to make work that is tactile and has a physical presence beyond a conventional format.
